It is an interface program on Emacs which controls w3m. For more information, see Preliminary remarks.
The following Emacsen have been checked for emacs-w3m support:
Note that you’re required to use APEL if you’d like to run emacs-w3m under XEmacs. For more information, see Things required to run emacs-w3m.
The following w3m versions have been checked for emacs-w3m support:
Note that w3mmee mentioned as the example is configured with the ‘lang=many’ option (it can be done by entering 3, when the ‘configure’ script prompts you, "Which language do you prefer?"). It also requires the ‘libmoe’ package.
There are some problems in the XEmacs APEL package (all modules have been compiled for XEmacs with Mule); for instance, the ‘std11’ modules conflict with the FLIM’s one, etc. Even though you can use ‘apel-1.23-pkg.tar.gz’ or later for both XEmacs with Mule and non-Mule XEmacs if you don’t use FLIM for the ‘shimbun’ features, we recommend you replace it or newly install the original APEL package. See Things required to run emacs-w3m where to get it from.
It is necessary to run ‘autoconf’ first, to generate ‘configure’ script.
